An electric motorcycle is a type of electric vehicle that uses a battery to drive the motor. The electric drive and control system consists of a drive motor, a power supply, and a speed control device for the motor. The other devices of the electric motorcycle are basically the same as those of the internal combustion engine.

The composition of an electric motorcycle includes: electric drive and control system, driving force transmission and other mechanical systems, and working devices to complete established tasks. Electric drive and control systems are the core of electric vehicles, and they are also the biggest difference from vehicles driven by internal combustion engines.

Electric powered motorcycle. Divided into electric two-wheeled motorcycles and electric three-wheeled motorcycles.

a. Electric two-wheeled motorcycle: a two-wheeled motorcycle driven by electricity with a maximum design speed greater than 50km/h.

b. Electric three-wheeled motorcycle: a three-wheeled motorcycle driven by electricity, with a maximum design speed greater than 50km/h, and a curb weight of not more than 400kg.

Electric mopeds are divided into electric two-wheeled and three-wheeled mopeds.

a. Electric two-wheeled mopeds: two-wheeled motorcycles that are driven by electricity and meet one of the following conditions:

The maximum design speed is greater than 20km/h and not greater than 50km/h;

The curb weight of the whole vehicle is greater than 40kg and the maximum design speed is not greater than 50km/h.

b. Electric three-wheeled mopeds: three-wheeled mopeds driven by electricity, with a maximum design speed of not more than 50km/h and a curb weight of not more than 400kg.
